Shai-Hsien’s Journal: Entry Six
All this Kobold racial unity has me a bit homesick. I haven’t seen another Lamia since I arrived on the mainland, and I’m afraid that if I do encounter one I’ll end up having to kill her. As a way to cope I’ve decided to write a letter to Mother. She’ll likely never see it, but I thought I would write one anyway, here we go!
Dear Ssasha-Hsien:
Hey Mother! I miss you! How are things in Ssassh’aatthhhss? Probably better than here! The empire is actually a corrupt and terrible place. Who knew? I ended up joining the resistance on my first day here. I didn’t have much of a choice, but I guess I don’t mind. I’m going to write the best songs! I even have a wyvern egg that’s going to hatch soon. Hopefully I can bring it to meet it’s grandmother someday! Oh! I’ve been practicing my singing each day. I’m still not as good as you. You’re the only one who can make our vulgar native tongue sound elegant an beautiful. It’s simply amazing. I’ve been getting into battles almost every day, it’s real scary, but I’m keeping everyone alive and doing my best to keep us all in high spirits. I haven’t encountered much music here, probably because I’m wanted and thus don’t go into towns much. I have an, I think, 1,000 gold bounty on my head at the moment. Dead or alive. Me, a wanted girl, I bet you never thought you would see the day. Don’t worry though, mother, I fight on the side of justice and justice always prevails!
Love, your daughter
