I had written it on two strips of paper,
\nTorn off and skewed away from yesterday,
\nFrom everything,
\nFrom all those words I say to pretend that I’m okay,

\nOh up and up into the sky that soaked my eyes,

\nI beg and I plead, I struggle to breath,

So honestly, please stick with me like the sap on these trees,
\nor the blood that soaks these very words,
\nelse down deep something dark begins to stir,
\nIrregularly like conscripts in the army.<\/p>\n
I fought and I bled, to silence them,
\nThe voices in my head, lay dormant, and it’s worth it.
\nThis time is heaven sent, you are heaven sent,
\nFrom a heaven neither of us believe in.<\/p>\n
So when you lay down to sleep, so gently, please know
\nYou mean more than the world, or diamonds or pearls,
\nStashed like nuts in the cheeks of squirrels.<\/p>\n
All of life is just a whisper in the rushing water.
