Once upon a time, in days long past
\nIn a cottage on the corner of Bonnet and Mast
\nLived a cat raised from birth by a lonely young girl in pink
\nThis cottage was the entire world, or so the cat did think<\/p>\n

See this girl was orphaned a few years back
\nHer household fell to ruin as quick as a flash
\nApprenticed to a grocer she became to pick up the slack
\nTired and sad, but at her dear cat she would never lash<\/p>\n

The cat saw her kindness and wanted to help pay her fares
\nSo in the wee hours of the night he ascended the stairs
\nTo the Magician’s University Library, and upon the shelf
\nHe would find books about magic, how to gain power and wealth<\/p>\n

In the night the cat studied hard for multiple years
\nWhile in the day he tried to dry his dear girl’s tears
\nEventually the cat had mastered the elements and rhymes
\nBut little did he realize he was already out of time<\/p>\n

The girl he loved so much was now old, and found a man
\nA pianist named Peter, who made decent gold with his band
\nThe cat stood in awe, as even with all his magic had given
\nHe still was a cat and that was all his owner would ever see in him<\/p>\n

The cat knew he did not belong here, so he departed our world
\nHe left to seek adventures in places untold
\nNo matter his location, each night he thought of his girl
\nFor in all his studies of magic, he still couldn’t think
\nof a spell more powerful than the smile of the girl in pink<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
